A Book Series Review – The Ever Trilogy

I recently finished reading The Ever Trilogy by Jasinda Wilder. And to be honest, after reading the very mixed reviews on the second and third books on Good Reads, I was a little unsure of what to expect, there were rave reviews for the first book, Always & Forever and then downright ranty reviews for the remaining two books in the series, After Forever and Saving Forever.

But I often don’t agree with reviews on GR’s and often try to read books others have raved about, only to find myself rolling my eyes at the childishness or mushiness of the stories and giving up half way through and if you know me at all, you’ll know, I must really hate a book to quit reading it half way through.

I LOVED The Ever Trilogy! LOVED IT! LOVED IT!

The first book sucked me in, I knew it was building to something, with all the beautiful letters between Cade & Ever and the way their story unfolded was refreshing and unique.

But if you know me, you’ll know I like books that stir my emotions, that are full of angst and have me clutching at my hair and reaching for the tissues and that’s exactly what After Forever was like for me. Many readers did not enjoy the book because emotionally it is a tough read and in places it is emotionally ugly, I also think readers had fallen in love with Ever in the first book and to condone what happens in the second book was to betray Ever, but I loved it. It was raw, it was real and Eden and Cade’s reactions and coping mechanisms to a rather extreme situation seemed plausible and forgiveable to me.

The third book, Saving Forever was more of the same angst and suspense waiting to see how things would eventually play out. I also loved that the third book was more of Eden’s story so while you’re reading a trilogy, there are two different but linked stories going on at the same time. The ending was a little predictable but I did love it, it was a happily ever after kinda book and everyone once in a while I like to believe in happily ever after’s so enjoyed how this story ended.

It gets a stellar 5 star rating from me.

If you enjoy contemporary romance novels with grit and guilt and angst, you’ll love these three books!
