A Fun Evening Out @ Cook Studio

On Thursday evening, The Strange Nobb’s (don’t even ask) had our monthly get together. Each month one of us has a turn to host an evening out and this month’s evening was spectacular. We visited The Cook Studio.

Not only was the evening a treat for our taste buds but also an absolute feast for our eyes.  Even if you don’t like to cook, which I don’t, you simply have to visit Cook Studio. It is quite possibly the most beautiful kitchen I have EVER EVER seen. Debbie clearly is not on a culinary connoisseur but she clearly has an eye for beauty and design. I spent far less time that evening concentrating on the actual cooking and way more time feasting my eyes on every tiny and beautiful detail inside the studio. You HAVE to see it.

Of course the food was fabulous as well. Debbie prepared a menu for birthday’s and book clubs and I can’t wait to try out some of the recipes on my friends.

On arrival we were presented with a cocktail and spent the evening snacking on Avocado Hummus with Pistachio Dukkah that was served with home made mutli-grain dinner rolls. In between we were served an amuse bouche of tomato shots that were so good, I swear I could have filled up on them alone.

For mains Debbie prepared Tagine-style chicken with apricots and honey and platters of couscous which was so delicious I had to stop myself going for third and fourth helpings. And dessert was mini caramel carrot cakes which were to die for!

The studio is set up classroom style, so we sat in chairs and watched Debbie prepare and explain all the foods, which was great, no need for me to cook unless I absolutely have to!  We sat and chatted and watched and feasted our eyes on the gorgeous surroundings and drank wine while Debbie and Rube (her assistant) slaved away to prepare the most decadent of meals for us in the most gorgeous surroundings. I know I sound like I’m gushing but even the bathroom kept me busy, after hearing my friends raving about it and how I HAD to visit the bathroom, I spent a good  minutes in the toilet examining every fine detail in there!
