What Brings You Irrepressible Joy?

Sponsored

And I’m not just talking about the kind of joy that puts a smile on your face. I’m talking about the kind of joy that lights you up from the inside, that makes your heart feel light and makes your soul feel like it releases a deep breath. The kind of joy that puts a spring in your step and a light in your eyes?

I’m really just a simple girl at heart, simplest things give me irrepressible joy!

And I’m realizing this more and more the older I get. The things that bring me deep, irrepressible joy are so ridiculous that sometimes I take them fore-granted.

So much of what brings me this joy is related to my senses! Taste, Touch, Sound & Sight.

The sound of rain pelting a tin roof.

The smell of rain on hot tar.

The sound & smell of coffee in a coffee machine.

The smell of puppies breath.

The scent and soft feel of freshly laundered sheets on my bed.

The sound of a books freshly cracked spine & the smell of it’s pages, with stories yet to be discovered.

The smell & sounds of a new baby.

The tingle and taste of dry champagne bubbles on my tongue.

The sound of my children’s laughter.

The feeling of calm that encompasses me when I sit down with a glass of wine & my book at night after my children have gone to bed. I call it my soul sigh.

The feel of my dog’s body pressed against my back as we snuggle in bed at night.

The taste of a chocolate melting on my tongue.

The sounds of owl hooting & night and birds tweeting in the early morning.

The sunrise and sunset.

These are the simplest of everyday things that bring me such great pleasure and irrepressible joy.

I’m talking about the kind of joy the Martians experienced when they first tasted Cadbury’s Dairy Milk!

Cadbury’s Dairy Milk has been spreading joy for years.

But now that joy has gone inter-planetary with the discovery of life on Mars and the Martians just can’t seem to get enough of our delicious Cadbury’s Dairy Milk. Watch how the chocolate gets them all dancing with irrepressible joy.

What brings you that sense of peace and calm that comes from the simplest joy that can be felt in your soul?

I’m also a simple girl so lots of things make me really happy but off the cuff, the thing that I can think of right now that’s always been a favourite of mine is…getting into bed at the end of the day!!

Funny I thought the opposite of simple when i read your title and first sentence, simple things make me happy everyday. But deep down joy I had to stop and think hard. I came up with time in the bush, taking a really good photograph, a good craft day with my kids, time to really talk to close friends and then wondered why I dont make the effort more often to do those things.

My child’s laughter brings me such joy. Tucking her into bed at night (also known as the time I actually get things done haha) brings a sense of calm and peace too.

Seeing the look on my husbands face at night when he sees me, gives me pure joy. Gives me the confirmation that we are on the right track and have something good going. Then there’s my children…they are my everything.

Hi there. Simple soul pleasures are my husband, our baby boy David, Buster Jenny and Taylor (our Mutleys) with good music… cooking and best of all being together. Ooooo and unpacking and packing our soon to be adopted baby’s clothes, almost every weekend. 🙂

When my daughter is asleep and I look at her profile. Perfect forehead, nose etc. I want to trace my finger down that line. But of course don’t, she might wake and at the end of a day that would shatter my simple joy
