Calling All The Coffee Lovers – Almond Breeze Barista Blend

My drink of choice, aside from wine and let’s be honest, it’s kinda frowned upon to order a wine with your breakfast at 7am, is coffee. I love coffee! I drink a lot of coffee!

I am a self confessed coffee addict.

The big problem with this, of course, is that I like my coffee with milk and when you’re drinking as much coffee as I am, 6 – 8 cups a day, the calorie intake from the milk starts to add up and is not ideal when I’m trying to lose or maintain my weight.

So I was quite keen to give Almond Breeze Barista Blend a try!

Almond Breeze Barista Blend is made with non-genetically modified almonds, dairy and soy free and contains all the health benefits of almonds. It also contains no added sugar and is suitable for vegans. It also froths beautifully so it’s ideal for cappuccinos, lattes and flat whites.

So what did we think?

It lived up to it’s promise of creating beautiful froth, wasn’t as sweet as full cream cows milk and it smells amazing. I tried it both with my coffee and gulped it straight from the box and I was surprised I liked the taste so much. I’m not really sure how to describe the taste. Obviously, it doesn’t taste like cows milk at all, but it has a pleasant flavour with an undertone of nuts and dare I say… chocolate? I felt like it complimented my coffee and I really enjoyed it.

We’ll definitely continue to use it in our house!

To find out more about Almond Breeze Barista Blend, visit their website and follow them on Instagram, Twitter and Face Book for lots of tips and recipes with your almond milk.

You can buy your own Almond Breeze Barista blend at Wellness Warehouse, Dischem &  Food Lover’s Market and it’s also available with your coffee and leading coffee shops around SA.

I will be giving the milk a try, as I love nutty flavors in my coffee. I must say, I LOVE that cup / mug?!

I’m keen to try this. Does it have less kilojoules than milk? And is fat content higher? I drink a fair amount of coffee so wondering if this could be waist friendly

It is lower in Kj’s than milk. Not sure on the fat content though. But I would imagine it’s high in fat given it’s almonds.

Sounds yum. Have been eyeing the Breeze milks when grocery shopping. Now I’m not so scared to try 🙂 Also, I’m a coffee snob so I’ll definitely need to get my hands on the barista blend.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading about the cons cows milk. I’m not the biggest nutty fan but I don’t mind it in my coffee 🙂 Will def try this!
