Discrimination?

Against the childless NOT by choice? discrimnationSaw this at my favorite shopping mall yesterday. It stung about as much as walking past Baby City yesterday and seeing all the pregnant couples choosing baby goodies and realizing I’ll always be different and that will never be us.

Nuff said!

We have parkings like that, but only because they’ve made it a bit bigger so somebody could get a pram in and out without having to scratch another car. It is quite a common sight here. We also have senior citizen parking spaces.

Very strange policy to have…hmmm. You will get to shop for your baby one day Sharon. It will be a different experience to the one you always imagined but it wont be any less special! xx

I park in those bays if there are no others available, screw em. How on earth did Mothers cope before those bays were invented? Oh thats right they just did.

When there have been NO other bays available and I’ve parked in them, I’ve received a few glares and one mother even asked me where my child was…to which I replied, dead straight face…”in the boot…” you should have seen her face, CLASSIC!!!

Ouch. I also have a problem with their wording. You can be a family of 2 with no kids (just pets?) so technically even people without kids can park there. If they mean parking for parents with children in the car, then they should say that.

PS haha Rach – that is brilliant!

Hey hey hey, none of that talk Missy, you have turned a corner remember, you are soon going to be one of those ‘families’ needing parking 🙂 I am hoping and praying every day that your adoption plans come through sooner rather than later.

They are everywhere in the UK. For the 6 short weeks before we lost Nathan how I wished for those bays, as getting pram plus seat plus baby out of the car was so difficult. For the 9+ years before that, it did hurt! So I do understand your pain. I just pray that you have need of one of those bays very soon 🙂

Is handicapped parking discrimination because you can walk without an aide? They have those specific parking spots because it’s hard to maneuver a stroller when a semitruck sized suv is parked ON the line beside the car.
