So week twenty two has come and gone, I still can’t believe I’ve been banting now for 22 weeks and it’s become such an automatic and easy way of life for us. I always smile when I see people say that it’s not a sustainable way of eating because after 22 weeks (and that includes not cheating) I think I’m living proof it’s perfectly sustainable, it’s no different that choosing to be vegetarian, pescatarian, fruitarian, vegan etc. I think the biggest reason for this is that people see LCHF as a diet and not as a lifestyle choice. From what I’ve experienced, not just in weight loss, but in the incredible health benefits I’ve experienced over the past 22 weeks, I’d say this is very much a lifestyle choice, just like all the others.
I’ve lost 21kg’s now and everyone keeps asking me what I eat, how I eat, that I can lose almost a kg a week for such an extended period so I’ve started doing a #foodphotojournal on Instagram for those who are interested, you can follow me here: Blessed Barrenness on Instagram.

On Sunday, my bestie and I also ran the Zoo Trot, it is absolutely fabulous and I’d recommend it to everyone. Totally non competitive so you can walk or run with loads of families participating and the kids stopping along the way to check out the animals. It’s also a comfortable route to run for beginners like myself. It was utterly freezing, starting tempt at the beginning was 1 degree and I’ve realized I’m seriously going to have to invest in some proper winter running gear, starting with a buff in an attempt to prevent frostbite on my nose!
I’ve had a bit of a cold the last few days and so I’ve taken a break from the running, just didn’t seem like a smart idea to be pounding the pavement at 6am in sub zero temps. But today I’m feeling better and hopefully will be getting back out there tomorrow!
