Last year we did a very low key party for Hannah’s first birthday and this year we decided to do the same, given that she is 2 and doesn’t really know it’s her birthday but we still wanted to celebrate without the fuss and work of a party at home so we headed to Aroma Cafe in Fourways and it was fabulous, I cannot recommend them enough if you have a little one in need of a party! A total one stop shop and reasonably priced too. It’s a beautiful venue, with beautiful decor and gorgeous, well priced food. We selected a platter selection for the adults with a tea and coffee station and then brought our own beers and champagne which they kept in an ice bucket for us and charged us corkage for the champagne only.
They charged R50 a head per child, which included a fully set up sweetie table with chips and juices plus a meal for each child, including chicken strips and all the goodies kids love as well as full access to the play area and one activity, we landed up selecting the cupcake decorating, each child was presented with a tray containing a cupcake and everything they could possibly want to decorate there own cupcake. In addition, the venue had a balloon artist, sand art and face painting available too and I think the kids had a great time.
While the parents sipped champagne and feasted on the delicious snacks, the kids could run riot to their hearts content without anyone having to hover over their children as it’s a fully contained play area.
Caz from Catherine Scott Photography was on hand to take happy snaps of everyone in attendance. I love beautiful photographs but don’t like spending the entire party running around with a camera trying to get happy snaps of everyone so it was a pleasure to have her there photographing the moments for us and as always, the photo’s are beautiful.
It really was a beautiful party, lots of fun, lots of champagne and I think everyone had a fantastic time, most especially our little birthday cupcake, Hannah!
