Homemade Chicken Liver Pate & {WIN} With #FoodLoversFetive

I know a lot of people love chicken livers, but I’m NOT one of those people. I’m really just not a fan. I don’t like the texture of the liver at all. But I DO love a good chicken liver pate. 

And now I’ve found a recipe that is as good, if not better, than your favorite store bought chicken liver pate!

This recipe is divine. It’s rich and creamy and easy peasy to make! Delicious served as a dip with veggie sticks or with your favorite low carb seed crackers. Perfect as a starter to your Christmas lunch. The recipe also yields a fair amount so no need to worry if you’re serving a larger group of people. I got 3 large ramekins of pate from the one recipe.

Ingredients
  1. 200g Butter
  2. 1 Medium Onion
  3. 500g Chicken Livers
  4. 1/2 Cup Brandy
  5. 1 Bunch of fresh Sage
  6. Salt
  7. Pepper
  8. Nutmeg
Instructions
  1. Melt the butter and fry the finely chopped onion still caramelized.
  2. Add the washed chicken livers and brandy and saute for about 10 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle the surface with Nutmeg
  4. Toss on the bunch of fresh Sage leaves.
  5. Stir through.
  6. In a food processor, blend till you get that perfect, smooth, creamy consistency.
  7. Dish into ramekins and refrigerate.
Notes
  1. Serve with low carb seed crackers or veggie sticks.

    My favourite produce at food lovers is their fruit. They have a nice selection and I especially like their Wednesday bonus deals. I also like that you can pick and choose nuts and sweets from the barrel thingies (no idea what they’re called), allowing you to take as little or as much a you want /need.

    This recipe looks delish, and I love that it’s so high in good fats, and low in carbs. (The irony seeing as my fave produce consists of carbs! ha ha).

    My favourite produce at Food Lovers is definitely the fruit! My husband and I live on smoothies during the summer months and Food Lovers always has a wide selection of fresh fruit.
