I’m Not A Barrenness, I’m A Freaking Princess

This week has sucked…. great, big, hairy, purple baboon balls!

Hannah is still not sleeping. Ava is on school holidays. Walter has been man down with debilitating headaches. And Loveness has been off sick.

Last night for eg, the husband slept in the spare room, in dire need of a good nights rest as he was feeling so sick from a headache. Because, you know, a sick man is a dying man right? Hannah woke up every hour from 23h30, I was up in excess of 8 times in the night.  Ava woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed and ready for another day of talking and talking and talking to me until my ears bleed.

In my infinite wisdom, I invited Ava’s bestie over this morning, she’s bored out of her mind and I figured the best way to give my ears a break from her incessant chatter was to invite a friend over. Ja, right now, she’s playing her Barbie guitar, Tristan is blowing the Vuvuzela, we have Dino Time showing on the lounge TV and Rise Of The Guardians on the playroom TV.  I’ve heard how neither of them likes chocolate biscuits about a million times, I’ve cleaned a scraped back after a tumble off the jungle gym, I’ve broken up a couple of squabbles over who’s not sharing with who and all of this before 10am.

Hannah will be waking up from her nap shortly. She’s recently discovered that she can alter the pitch of her voice and her favorite is the highest pitch possible.

I’ve just finished the packet of chocolate biscuits that neither Ava nor Tristan wanted to eat and I’m counting down the hours until……….

wineoclock

And then I assess how whiney I’m being and I realize, I’m not a Barrenness…. I’m a freaking PRINCESS! UGH!!!!

My little guy has been in Durban with his nana for 2 weeks and I dream about everything you’ve described above! I long for interrupted sleep, non-stop talking, begging to eat, a bit of sass and cheek and all the love and cuddles that come with it!

I couldn’t wait for him to leave and now I can’t wait for him to get home! Parenting really is the ultimate double edged sword isn’t it!

Oh lol!! I invited Kiaras two close friends over tomorrow for this exact reason!

The noise is the worst and any given moment we have the TV going, Camerons PC, Kiaras laptop, the iPad, the washing machine, the dishwasher and at the moment the neighbours builders!

I have forgotten what silence is like AND I can’t even drink!!!!!

Had a bit of a laugh there Sharon – you are so funny!!! 🙂
Suggest you have a chat with your mom and see if she can come to Jhb and give you a hand – or better still she can take Ava to CT for a holiday 🙂
Seamus and I will be moving to NZ in October – We cant wait to be there to spoil the grandchildren.
    Take care
    Lots of love x xx

You ARE a Princess! And you are MUCH braver than me. I just throw all the loud toys in the bin when they are not looking!
