Let’s Engulf Her In Our Love

It’s been a week and two days since Lisa-Marie’s beloved passed away suddenly and completely unexpectedly and in that time a couple of things have become abundantly clear to me:

  1. Each new day is a gift not a guarantee, embrace it & hold your loved ones close.
  2. A lifetime can be very short
  3. Travers touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with.
  4. Lisa-Marie & Isabella are very very loved and in everyone’s hearts during this difficult time of grieving.

Today is Travers’s memorial. It will be a very tough day for Lisa-Marie & Isabella and all of Travers’s family and friends.

I saw Lisa-Marie last Thursday evening. It was a very tough visit. I was very scared.  In the end it landed up being a very special evening, drinking wine, laughing, crying, hugging, snot, tissues and special memories reminisced. But the one thing that I so clearly took away from my time spent with Lisa-Marie is that she wants Travers’s life celebrated. She wants to remember. She wants to be loved, supported and encouraged during this time. She wants you to share your memories, your thoughts and your condolences with her.

Im in tears because it makes me realize that life is so short and we waste so much time on monetary values and not in spending quality time with our loved once. FROM TODAY i will live each day as if its my last and value the people in it, less focus on work and more on family.

[…] Travers’s sudden passing at the end of last year, has had a profound impact on both of us. It has been a shocking reminder of how we all get so bogged down in the stresses and strains of daily life, on the struggle to find balance and to not be overwhelmed by juggling a work and home life and seeing to two small children,  that we forget to nurture our relationships with each other. Walter said he had been listening to the radio and more specifically to the words of this Ellie  Goulding song and how he wanted to dedicate that song to me and to how much he loved me.  How this song would always remind him of me, of us.
