I got invited by Cadbury’s to their Marvellous Mom’s Night Out last night and honestly, given the funk I’ve been in over the past few week’s, it was really just what I needed!
I got to invite a marvelous mom friend along with me and we landed up having a really fun evening but I won’t lie…. going out on a school night… eish, it took a lot of convincing. I was super excited when I first received the invite but my enthusiasm had significantly waned by the time I’d finished work, raced home to prepare our house of load shedding and waited for Walter to arrive home. The thought of driving back to Sandton, in the cold & dark was, well, less than marvelous! But my friend, Kate, was having none of it. Clearly she doesn’t get out much either and she was enthusiastically and marvelously batting away every objection and reason I could find to not attend the event last night.
Being the eager beavers that we are, we were first to arrive and got to horse around a little bit creating our own #MyMarvellousCreations from some of the fun dress up goods while sipping on champagne.
Once everyone had arrived, we got to indulge in even more champagne and yummy snacks while being entertained by funny man and recent SA Celebrity Masterchef winner, Chris Forrest.
And then we got stuck into creating our own #MyMarvellousCreations which were divine and I can’t wait to use the additional complimentary tickets we got in our gift boxes so that I can take the girls to the pop up store because they will love it!
After that we were all taken to Cine Prestige, can I just say, it’s clear I don’t get out much, I didn’t even know such cinema’s existed but can assure you, after last night, it’s the only way I’ll ever visit the cinema again!
I’m famous for falling asleep at the movies, so I won’t lie, I was a little nervous I was going to embarrass myself by falling asleep in these fabulous cinema seats and wake myself up snoring!
But then the movie started and I just adore Melissa McCarthy and Spies was really really funny. There were parts when Kate and I were overcome with silly giggling fits.
Go check out out, it’s a lot of fun!
