{WIN} A custom made medal hanger from SA Medal Hangers!

When Pamela from SA Medal Hangers contacted me to ask if they could make me a custom made medal hanger for review, I jumped at the chance. I’ve been eyeing these babies out for ages and wanting to order one, especially since I finished the Two Oceans Half Marathon but somehow, something always came up and I never got around to ordering one.

After my year of transformation last year, and having the running bug well and truly bite me, I knew exactly what I wanted and Pamela got to work coming up with a design I loved!

Within a week, my gorgeous medal hanger was delivered to me, along with instructions on how to hang it and today we finally got around to mounting it up next to my bed. I wanted to hang it there so that every morning, when I wake up, the first thing I see is my medal hanger with my medal hangers and it will always remind me of what I can do when I believe in myself!

Attachment-1 (1)I loved reading about how Pamela came up with this unique business idea too, read here in her own words:

I started SA Medal Hangers in mid 2013, after looking for some way to display my medals.  I saw a few awesome ideas online, but all international companies – there was nothing similar in South Africa.   At the time I was also battling with a 3 year old that was not coping very well in Day Care so was looking for something that I could do part time, maybe from home. When I realised that there were no South African companies offering anything similar, and with the exchange rate importing them was nearly impossible, I decided to open SA Medal Hangers.   What was initially meant to be a part time business suddenly became full time when the insurance company I was working for closed it Port Elizabeth branch, ironically the day after I had the first batch of medal hangers ready to sell.  I must have been the only person in the meeting when we were told that we were being retrenched that was elated. J   That was August, 2 years ago.

SA Medal Hangers is still the only company in South Africa that specialises in personalised or custom made medal hangers.  We have also added personalised Rosette hangers to our range and more recently stable door name plaques.  Our medal hangers make great gifts and are a perfect way to motivate young children as we can do their names instead of a specific sport – making it easier when they change sports or do a number of different activities.  We can also do corporate logos, schools or sports clubs.

Our prices range from R350.00 to R775.00 for our standard sizes, but can do larger or smaller hangers on request.

And there is literally a design for everyone, whether your sport of choice is triathlon’s, swimming, running, cycling, horse riding, fishing, you name it, SA Medal Hangers has something for everyone!

I really loved your design, so I would like one that says “She believed she could, so she did”. This really summarises my running journey, where people have said I can’t run but I have proven every one of them wrong!

My daughter is 9 and we started doing 5km runs last year when she was still 7. This past Saturday she did her 23rd 5k m for the year so far and has so far accumulated nearly 100 medals. I’ve actually emailed Pamela her price list just 2 weeks ago as a gift for my daughter for Christmas but to win one would be absolutely incredible. Holding thumbs it’s me! xxx

Oh. I’d absolutely love this (and have never seen this before)! Running is my ‘sane/personal time’ and I’ve had the opportunity to run in multiple countries and it has changed my life. My medals are randomly thrown all over the place and this would be amazing to win! Eeeeeee!!! The “She believed she could, so she did” one hits home. 🙂

Wish me luck for the Gun Run this Sunday!! 🙂

Ohh I would love to win this! Right now my medals are hanging on a leftover nail in my bedroom. A medal hanger would be a lot more attractive and motivating! I would love mine to say: “Never let your goals, become your limits”. Such a reminder that once our initial goals are reached – to keep pushing and trying!

I’d love to win this medal hanger as all my running medals are currently in a messy bunch on one small hook. I keep all my running medals because they’re a reminder of what I’ve achieved – if you’d have told me 4 years ago that I’d run a half marathon one day I would have told you that you were crazy! But, here I am over 10 half marathons (and a number of 10kms and trail runs) later! I’d like a medal hanger that says “Just keep running” for some extra motivation when I go through a lazy patch!

I’ve been looking into these medal hangers for a while now, because A1 has earned quite a few for rugby since he started playing in Grade R. Currently they hang from hooks in his ceiling, but it’s not particularly practical… I found the perfect design for him, I even posted another tweet about it 😀

I would love a SA Medal Hanger! I have run 33 races so far this year (I have only been running since January 2015) and would love to display my medals for everyone to see 🙂 I am running the La Capa – Goat Run and the Gun Run this weekend. That will make it 35 medals to hang.
