Win – Lisa Renee Jones’s If I Were You

I read Lisa Renee Jones’s Inside Out series last year and was really intrigued by the mystery/suspense aspect of the books. The first in the series, If I Were You, especially sucked me in and had me jumping out of my skin! And now the books is being made into a made for TV series! Not sure if or when we’ll get to see it here in South Africa, but the book is still worth reading!

When Sara McMillan finds a stack of journals in a storage unit, she’s shocked and enthralled by the erotic life the writer led. Unable to stop reading, she vicariously lives out dark fantasies through Rebecca, the writer—until the terrifying final entry.

Certain something sinister has happened, Sara sets out to discover the facts, immersing herself in Rebecca’s life. Soon she’s working at the art gallery Rebecca worked at and meeting Rebecca’s friends.

Lisa contacted me via Good Reads last week to offer an e-book giveaway of If I Were You and I jumped at the opportunity to share this book with you. It’s received a 4.5 star rating on both Good Reads and Amazon and here are few extracts of what others thought of the book too:

Wow. This is on dark and twisted story. I was enthralled from the moment I picked up the book. You pick up the story and you immediately know you’re in a journal.

I almost didn’t read this book. It was the promise “if you like Fifty Shades you’ll like this” that almost held me back from opening it. I swear, I am so sick of the Fifty Shades rip offs and similarities. However, when I read the blurb the story intrigued me. I loved the concept, a heroine who reads the journals of a stranger and then immerses herself into that stranger’s life to find out what happened to her. It sounded sexy and eerily mysterious—which it was.

Woah! This book was seriously intense and addicting! If I Were You by Lisa Renee Jones kept my attention from the first sentence all the way to the painful cliffhanger at the end.
