While I feel I’ve had an incredible “rebirth” so to speak in finding my voice, the one area I’ve really been struggling with is the branding behind my blog.
I just can’t seem to find something I LOVE!
Actually scrap that. I find lot’s of things I live, just nothing that doesn’t start to bore me within very short periods of time.
I’d really like to use a proper brand designer, I actually have been following one or two of them whose work I really love, but honestly, budget just doesn’t allow for it right now, so it’s up to me, Pinterest and Canva to find something I can live with until my budget allows.
Have I mentioned how much I LOVE Canva?
It makes creating so easy. Once you’ve decided on your inspiration and colours, the rest is up to your imagination. Finding my colour scheme was actually pretty easy. And then you save it all into the Your Brand section on Canva and all your fonts and HTML colour codes are available for any future designs. After playing around on Pinterest, it became very clear that the colour scheme for my previous look was all wrong. I’m not actually even sure what look I was going for, because that mustard colour is one of my least favorite colours and I’d never normally choose it.
But at the same time, as much as I love pink, I’m also kind of over it!
So for the past couple of months, I’ve been patiently putting together mood boards and colour inspirations over on Pinterest and finally I think I’ve settled on something I can live with till the budget allows a more professional solution.
I finally had my inspiration:
And after playing around with colour variations, I had my colour palette too!
And then the design pretty much came from there.
The heart is me, the slightly different colours of the heart are my daughters. I wanted something simple but yet symbolic and I hope I have achieved that, or at least achieved what I can live with for the time being. I want soft, and light and simple and tranquil.
And I think I did ok for a non-designer!
