An Almost Wordless Wednesday – Klassy With A Capital K!

Remember the days pre-parenting? When one is so full of ideals and convictions about the type of parent you’d be one day? Remember how one judged parents with a “humph… when I’m a parent one day I’ll never do x y z!”

Ha, how we land up with egg on our faces, when suddenly, as parents we find ourselves doing a lot of the things we swore blind we’d never do when we became parents one day!

Exhibit A: my 14 month old daughter sipping Dad’s beer in the Spur!

Yummy! Beer!
That was delicious!

Reminds me of when we went to Ocean Basket one Saturday with the kids (LOTS of fun haha) and Rachel stuck her hand into the chilli’s and immediately into her mouth, and there was nothing other than my husband’s Savan.ha to wash out her mouth with on the table! 10 Points for us!

They may be “tut-tut-tuting” me but they all know the truth, they know what happens behind their closed doors.
Its more the judgment of the pre-parenting Mom’s that will be harsh!

I bet as parents you swore you would never do the Spur either, and instead stay home and do wholesome meals each night around the dinner table. Enter toddler, and suddenly the Spur becomes a once a week destination, just so you can eat and someone in a glass cube can look after your child …. and when it is all over you can stand up from your table, that looks like a bomb went off and you can leave it to someone else ………… I love the Spur, even though I am so very tired of it.

I said that too Gingie.. but didn’t realise how much easier it would be to just let her sleep on my chest between feeds. You are just too tired to get up and put her down in the cot again. However, now that she’s older, we are starting to ‘wean’ her off coming into our bed at 04:00 or 05:00 (except on weekends! ๐Ÿ˜‰ )

What is it with beer, I can’t stand the stuff but my kid’s can’t keep away from it if their Dad is having one which isn’t very often.

Yes, I remember! I was never going to give in to the whining, but who knew how much they can whine about! So I pick my battles, and let the rest go. So far have not set foot in Spur, but go to Wimpy. As long as we have a milkshake and chips to keep her busy, we can eat in peace!
On the beer thing, DH gave her a tiny taste of his wine (using a finger) in a restaurant (pre walking days) should have seen the shocked looks directed at us!

Travs has been threatening to do this for aaaaaages! And my daddy says that it’ll “do her the WOOOOOORLD of good if you dip her dummy in the beer. Just look at how YOU turned out.. there’s nothing wrong with YOU is there”.
Sigh. These funny boys of ours, eh?
(I agree with MrsSee – had a chuckle about that too!!!)
