Celebrating My Curves & My 40th!

Next Saturday I will be celebrating my 40th birthday in style… an overnight stay with 4 of my closet friends and husbands. Activities will include clay pigeon shooting for the boys, spa packages for the girls, a lot of eating and drinking and a burlesque themed evening at one of my favorite restaurants of all time!

Of course, finding the perfect outfit for the evening was of utmost importance to me, but being of a fuller figure it was not so easy to do. Then I stumbled across the Curvaceous Girl  website and was thrilled to see that this South African based site caters for the fuller figure too with corsets and baby dolls going up in size to as large as a 6x XL! I immediately  contacted Chris and arranged a corset fitting at my home, which is just one of the great services that she offers, after all, I’ve never owned a corset, so how on earth would I know what size to choose.

After my fitting was done, I chose this GORGEOUS corset my burlesque themed birthday party:

The best part of all… unlike other retailers and e-tailers where the prices for a plus size corset ranged from R600 to R1000, Curvaceous Girls prices are R275!
I had a really hard time choosing my corset, they are all just so gorgeous and Curvaceous Girls has a great range to choose from in both plus sizes and standard sizes.

I was also thrilled to discover that they offer a party service where you can book Chris for a 18+ rated afternoon with you and your girlfriends where you can all get fitted for corsets and view all the other lingerie items and bedroom secret items on offer from Curvaceous Girl.

We had our Curvaceous Girl party last weekend and all I can say is…. woah…. I have not laughed or been naughty like that in a very long time. Chris brought racks and racks of lingerie, corsets, sleep wear, feather boa’s, stockings, garter belts and a table full of bedroom secrets and after we’d all gotten over our shyness and were hitting the 4th bottle of champagne, the fun really started. Everyone attending my birthday got fitted for a corset and there was literally thousands of rands spent on all the lingerie, corsets and other goodies on sale! (I took tons of photo’s but they’re all far too naughty to share and I’d like to protect the identity of those who attended – LOL)

It was seriously some of the best and naughtiest fun I’ve had in ages and I’d so recommend it to everyone. It makes a great alternative to a book club evening or a girl’s night out, I’d call it good clean fun, except that would be a lie, there was a lot of giggling and naughtiness about the day, which started at 14h30 and ended way past 23h00!

And in celebration of my 40th, Chris has graciously given me something to give to you! On Freebie Friday this week, I’ll be giving away one Baby Doll of choice to one winner and one Corset of choice to another lucky winnter! All you need to to enter is let me know in the comments section which Corset or Baby Doll you’d like to win and share the competition on Face Book and Twitter!

Here are just a few of my favorites from Curvaceous Girl corsets, you can also check their website for all the babydolls:
