Do You Love Food? Have I Got A Treat For You!

There is nothing more exciting that watching someone with passion fulfill a life long dream and that’s exactly what I got to do on Thursday evening, when I had the privilege of being invited to the first ever Go Gourmet (*) evening.

Go Gourmet is the start of a dream fulfilled for Bronwyn, the owner and founder of Go Gourmet. Her passion for cooking has spilled over into a passion for sharing her love of cooking and food with all. The concept is fantastic! Do you love cooking? Do you and your partner share a love of cooking and eating together? Or are you and your girlfriends looking for a fun and yummy evening together with a little bit of a difference? Then Go Gourmet is what you’ve been looking for.

Based in Lonehill, Go Gourmet offers a state of the art kitchen with an intimate restaurant vibe. Bring you own wine and spend an evening learning how to cook a beautiful themed menu, while sitting on your bum, sipping wine and chatting with friends, while enjoying the delicious food and relaxed atmosphere.

I loved Bronwyn’s relaxed and humorous style of presenting and teaching us and as a great lover of food and of cooking and entertaining, I really enjoyed the evening, and learned so much, including how to spatchcock a chicken, make homemade ice cream and make my own balsamic reduction.

Our theme for the evening was fireside dinners and our five course meal demonstrated and cooked by Bronwyn and enjoyed by us all included:

  • Spicy Butternut and Orange Soup
  • Brie and Fig Tarts (which were so seriously easy to make and so yummy I can’t wait to recreate them)
  • Beetroom and Citrus Salad
  • Ricotta Stuffed Roast Chicken
  • Chocolate Fondants

The food was absolutely divine and I was totally stuffed after the evening of wine and good food. The best part of all is that Bronwyn prints all the recipes for you, so no need to write anything and I’ve already replicated the delicious spicy butternut soup which my husband has given the thumbs up, and if you knew how much he dislikes butternut soup, you’d know how good that soup really is.

I’ve already discussed with my girlfriends and we’re going to book an evening for us in July as an alternative to a girls night out and frankly I can’t wait to see what divine menu Bronwyn does for us.

And now you can have an opportunity to get in on the yummy food action too. Bronwyn has given me two double tickets for an evening at Go Gourmet for two lucky readers! That means that you and a friend can go an enjoy an evening of pure food enjoyment! All you need to do enter is let me know if you were to attend an evening, what foods would you like to see demonstrated and get to eat?

Winners will be drawn via on Freebie Friday!

And if you’d like to book an evening of pure food enjoyment, please contact Bronwyn at

(*) Go Gourmet’s website is not yet active, please email inquiries to Bronwyn.

Sounds Divine! I really really really just love food! I would like prawns/oxtail/lamb shank/red velvet cupcakes/lemon meringue…. You know it really doesn’t matter as I am always open to “new” suggestions. I am that person to try something new on the menu. Provided it’s not some weird delicacy….

My hubby is a total foodie and I love to eat so we are a match made in hog heaven. This sounds right up our street! As you know I love Come Dine With Me and I have always wanted to try the Chilli and ginger ice cream that was a disaster on one episode. It just sounds yum. And for main, caramelised pork belly. Okay, now I am hungry.

This sounds like such fun. I’d love to learn how to cook pork as it is not a meat that I have much experience with. I love quick, simple and delicious meals.
I would also like the lowdown on making a baked dessert especially now for winter. There is something special about comfort food when it is cold out.
