Fallen – My New Addiction

I love to read.

I love to read easy, light, entertaining books. Nothing heavy. I’m always attracted to books that have interesting covers & a book must grab me from the first chapter or I won’t get very far, if I’m not entertained from the first page, I won’t read it. I don’t do highly intellectual books, I read to escape. I am a big fan of 50 Shades Of Grey, Twilight & The Sookie Stackhouse Mysteries but since reading the 50 Shades trilogy, I’ve really battled to find a book that I could really just lose myself in.

Then yesterday I stumbled across a blog that had a “What I’m Reading” in the sidebar and was immediately  intrigued by the books cover:

I found the synopsis totally intriguing too:

What if the person you were meant to be with could never be yours? 17-year-old Lucinda falls in love with a gorgeous, intelligent boy, Daniel, at her new school, the grim, foreboding Sword & Cross . . . only to find out that Daniel is a fallen angel, and that they have spent lifetimes finding and losing one another as good & evil forces plot to keep them apart.

As soon as I got home last night, I downloaded the book onto my Kindle and got stuck in. From the first page I was intrigued and curious and wanting to keep turning the pages to find out what was going to happen. According to my Kindle I read 40% of the book in just a few hours last night. Now this is the kind of reading I enjoy!

Can’t wait to get my hands on the remaining books in the series!

I’m looking for a reading list that fits my requirements for the December holidays as I have no doubt I’ll have finished reading the Fallen series by then.

What are you reading and what would you recommend?

Totally agree I LOVED the series! Please share your reading list when you’ve got it compiled!

Also highly recommend Sylvia Day’s Crossfire Trilogy! The first 2 books Bared to You and Reflected in You are out and the 3rd will be released in December! Can’t wait!

I recently discovered the Odd Thomas series by Dean Koontz and totally enjoyed it. I’ve read the 1st 3 books and am still bargain hunting for the 4th. (Got a eReader from my hubby for my birthday but I already have the other books so are looking to complete the collection.) Apparently there is going to be 7 books in the series and the 1st movie is coming out soon. Yay!

Ok, I’m about to start the fallen serious, so thanks for the great review! Now, it seems that you and I have highly similar reading styles… I love to lose myself in a book, and I have a very hard time putting a really good book down when it comes time to wash dishes, or make dinner.. Or other similarly boring things.. lol. There are a whole lot of awesome, totally addicting that I could go on and on about, but I will settle for the Chemical Garden series.. I’ve just finished reading it and I lived it.. Read all three books back to back, and couldn’t put them down! It’s set about a hundred years from now, and doctors have perfected our genetics so that sickness no longer exists.. But it had unintended consequences. Starting with the second generation of sickness free children a sort of virus emerges.. The girls born no longer live past the their twentieth bday and the boys their twenty-fifth. Ppl are working to find a cure, but in the meantime girls are being kidnapped and forced to marry and have children as soon as their bodies are capable of reproducing.. From page one this book will trap you till u are done reading.. Lol. I was sent free screener copies of all the books, and if you or anyone else would like me to email them to you, I’d be happy to.. I get alot of great books free and I love sharing them! My email is tabethastiles@gmail.com.

OOOOH!! Let me know how it all is, okay? I also felt a little “at loss” after Gray.

P.S. have bought the other books you recommended, but now just need to get my head back into READING MODE!!!
