Gone Girl Comes To The Big Screen

Remember a few week’s ago, I wrote a book review for Gillian Flynn’s novel, Gone Girl? Well turns out that the book has been turned into a movie and will be releasing in South Africa on the 10th October… tomorrow!

You’ll know from my review that I loved the book but really hated the ending. I’ve heard rumours that the ending has been altered for the movie so I’m curious to see how it will all play out.

The movie stars Ben Afflek as Nick Dunne, who on the occasion of his fifth wedding anniversary, reports that his wife, Amy, has gone missing. Under pressure from the police and a growing media frenzy, Nick’s portrait of a blissful union begins to crumble. Soon his lies, deceits and strange behavior have everyone asking the same dark question: Did Nick Dunne kill his wife?

The trailer looks good, I’m seriously tempted to see this at the cinema, check it out:

I didn’t realize everyone was raving about the book – but K and I watch the film on Friday night. The main message from the film (for me) was marriage is hard work. And why would you sleep with your wife if you believe she is psycho-murder? Men!
