More Scans & Needles

Had my first scan yesterday, went really really well. Super chuffed, Dr V did my scan, says I’m stimulating like a 30 years old, rechecked my hormone profile and he reckons for an almost 37 year old I’m doing well. I knew it was going to be good because I’ve had a fair amount of discomfort since Friday afternoon. So I have 5 follicles on the left ovary and 6 on the right, all jostling for space, my lining was 6.7mm.

I’ve had an Eostrogen check which is right on track and at today’s scan my follicles are all measuring between 14 & 15mm and my lining has increased to 10mm so we’re on track for ER to be on Thursday or Friday.

Cetrotide has been added to the mix since yesterday, so I’m no injecting with 3 amps of Menopur and then 1 amp of Cetrotide for three days. I don’t like the Cetrotide, it burns like hell and then makes a massive red ring where its injected which itches for ages afterwards. Fortunately, I suspect that tomorrow will be my last day of stims, I scan again on Tuesday and I think I’ll probably trigger on Tuesday evening.

And that’s when the scarey stuff really starts!

All looking good with the follies!!!

I hated the Cetrtotide too! Also left me itching for ages afterwards, but hang in there, not long to go now until you can stop the injections.

You are doing SO great my friend! Those follies are doing super and your ovaries are doing what they’ve been paid to do so enjoy it (hehe yeah right). Cannot wait to hear what the next scan unfolds 😉

Ok so.. now Im getting scared of the Cetrotide.. I can usually tell whats going to be not so fun by how my doc kinda glazes over it. And I recall he said if I start looking like my LH is headed up he will put me on the Cetrotide but we would wait and see “because some people dont care for its side effects” SO now I will be scared of that and the PIO.

I am too excited for you.. can it be Tuesday yet? I bet they get like 16 eggies.

You’re doing great sweetie and I’m so so proud of you! I hated the cetrotide too, horrible stuff but the trick is not to scratch since that just makes it worse!

Things are going so fast now, I can’t believe it’s almost trigger time. I’ll be checking in on you and praying for some awesome eggs and embabies!!

    Big hugs xxx
