My Year Of ACTION … Off To A Good Start!

A couple of weeks ago, I shared that our word for 2012 would be ACTION, in various aspects of our lives.

Well, it’s been 2 weeks and we certainly have swung into ACTION!

Here are just some of the things I’ve managed to ACTION and get done:

A skip was ordered, delivered & filled of all the cr*p one accumulates and never gets to use that you don’t quite know what to do with. We currently have a skip standing in our driveway that is filled to the brim with junk, old paint cans, broken tog bags, old burglar bars, every gift box I’ve ever received that I fully intended to re-use and then never did! It has been quite a liberating experience to clear the clutter.

I printed all the photo’s from Ava’s 2nd birthday party and put them into a photo album. Can’t quite believe I’ve actually done this! I’ve been so bad since she was born, at getting photo’s printed, that I still haven’t created photo albums for her first year, including the photo’s of her with her birth mother or of her first birthday party. I’m currently in the process of electronically sorting through all of these photo’s and creating these albums for printing.

I created disks for each of my friends with the photo’s taken of their children at Ava’s birthday parties. My one friend in particular has been asking for some of the photo’s from Ava’s 1st birthday which I have never got around to doing.

The area of ACTION I’m most excited about has been the sale of our house! We signed with an agent just over a week ago, they arrived with their photographer last week on Tuesday to photograph the house and the images and ad went up on their website on Thursday last week. The response has been phenomenal! Our estate agent has been inundated with calls for private viewings and we had a very busy weekend of said viewings. By 6pm last night we had our first offer, at our asking pricing by a qualified buyer (no subject to’s, no property to sell and pre-approved for a bond). There are also 2 appointments scheduled for today for 2 additional offers and tomorrow we meet with our estate agent to sign the offer we like the best. I’m super thrilled that our house sold in under two weeks and just praying that everything goes according to plan.

As it stands now, we’re probably going to go with the first offer received last night in which case we will be moving on the 1st March!

This of course will require even more ACTION because we don’t have any where to live! So we have now started the arduous task of searching for a suitable rental.

So far, 2012 is most certainly shaping up to be a year of ACTION! It really does feel like everything is lining up perfectly for even greater things to come…..

Well done on the de-cluttering! It will make your upcoming move alot more swift, I’m sure.

I’m jealous re: the photo’s! I still have a box full from age 2 weeks to around 4/5 months that need to be scrapped! SOB!

Selling your house so quickly is bloody awesome – and more so that the offer is not a subject-to! Good luck with the upcoming hunt!

You have been so busy! Well done. Am also decluttering because all the STUFF is just draining me. Am doing one room at a time. Slowly but surely. I’ll get there. And congrats on the sale of your house. So glad it went quick.x
