Our First Milestone!

Today is my precious child’s one month birthday! After waking her for her morning feed, W and I were setting her up to take a photo to mark the occasion, when something happened that I have been SO looking forward to but was quite unprepared for.

I was kneeling on the floor in front of her, kissing her feet and talking to her in a funny voice when I heard this coo’ing sound… when I looked up, she was staring at me with the widest, gummiest smile on her face. I burst into tears and the more I cried and talked to her the wider her gummy smile got. Thank goodness W was there to witness the milestone and of course he rushed to Dr Google to confirm that it was indeed possible for her to start smiling from so early on and it is! According to Dr Google, babies can start smiling for the first time between 4 and 8 weeks of age. Such a cleaver little sausage to do it so early! Of course we’ve marked it off in her baby book as a reminder of the first of many man milestones to come.

Ava's 1 Month Birthday

I still cannot believe I get to call this beautiful miracle my daughter! I still cannot believe that I have been so blessed with this beautiful child. I still believe I have the most beautiful baby girl in the whole wide world, but I could be being slightly biased there! πŸ™‚

She is indeed a very beautiful little girl! And you know what you’ll be doing now? You’ll be making lots of funny noises and funny faces just to try and get her to smile again – parents sometimes do silly things in the name of parenthood πŸ™‚

    How cool is this milestone!

Yay!! Happy 1 month!! You are so lucky…the twins didn’t start smiling until they were like 3 months old. But now they smile all the time. πŸ˜€ And it never loses its magic…

She is so gorgeous Shaz, and well done to her for smiling on her month-birthday πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚ Super clever little angel!!

For me things got a gazzillion times easier once my babies started smiling at me. It’s so much easier to get up at 2am when you’re greeted with that big grin, when they can show you how much they appreciate the efforts, kwim?!

Yay!! Huge, huge milestone πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€
