Places to go with kids these holidays – Tres Jolie

I’m really not sure why Tres Jolie is not the go to restaurant for parents with young kids in and around Jozi. Well located, between Honeydew and Ruimsig it’s less than a 15 minute drive for us from Boskruin/Randpark Ridge. We hadn’t visited in a while and popped in there a few week’s ago and it was even better than I remembered.

The food is fantastic! Reasonably priced and delicious, which is so often not the case with kid orientated restaurants.

No, it’s not banting but it was delicious!

The ambiance is lovely, very country and rustic and somehow lacking in that frantic, sticky, yucky vibe that so many kid orientated restaurants have.

In addition, there are a million and ten different activities for kids visiting the restaurant and all of this is in a fully fenced off, very large area.

In addition there are also two jumping castles and a whole section of mini rides and carousels, as well as a ball fishing pond and another massive pond filled with tiny teddies that you use a clamp to try and grab, not sure what it’s called. The rides are extra but reasonably priced and operated  on a ticket system and run by amazing staff who were more than willing to help Ava and Hannah without me having to hover around, we sent them off with a few ronds and they had a blast buying their own tickets and choosing their own rides and activities. The camel ride was R30 and it was the most expensive but Ava, being the animal lover that she is, loved it! You can read more about their amazing playground activities here.

So if you’re at a loss as to what to do with your kids these holidays, I’d highly recommend a visit to Tres Jolie. We loved it so much we’re probably going to have Hannah’s birthday party there next year.

P.S. This is not a sponsored post, just a kids friendly country restaurant that I really loved!

The field and study centre in parkmore is also brilliant for kids. Horse riding for R50 and it’s a good 20 minute. Moms can walk behind them and chat and also get a good workout :). The food is really good.
