Review & {WIN} TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Cleansing Conditioner #cowash

They say a woman’s hair is her crowning glory. In our home, with three girls, there are a lot of hairy crowns that are often less than glorious! Between, Ava, Hannah and I, there is a lot of hair, but each one of us struggles with our own unique hair concerns.

Hannah probably has the easiest hair out of the three of us. Her hair is soft & fine with a beautiful soft curl and not a spot of frizz anywhere. Mine is slightly more difficult to manage, let’s just say that in its natural state, my hair is Jon Bon Jozi Living On A Prayer mess of frizz & unruly waves. And Ava’s is by far the MOST difficult hair to manage. This kid has enough hair on her head that we could share it between 5 women and still she’d have enough left over to share. But, her hair is coarse and frizzy and she hates it. She often cries about how in its natural state, she looks like Penny Wise!

Finding the right hair products.

This has always been a challenge. Because my hair is coloured and Ava’s hair is so very dry, we only use paraben and sulphate free hair products, which are not always freely or easily available in pharmacies or supermarkets and they’re often very expensive too.

So I was thrilled to receive the new TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Cleansing Conditioner to try.

About TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Cleansing Conditioner

This is a shampoo free formula, so don’t expect to lather your scalp and hair with the product. The shampoo free formula cleanses, balances and refreshes your hair without stripping or depleting the hairs natural oils and nutrients.  Co-washing skips the sulphates that are mainly found in shampoos, instead, it uses a conditioning formula to gently lift oil and debris from the scalp and hair. Perfect for hair with volume and looser curls. The co-wash contains Marula Oil, which gives 72 hours frizz control and perfectly detangles frizzy, static hair. The co-wash will leave your hair feeling soft and with a silky shine while also taming flyaway hair.

Available at Clicks, Dischem & Pick ‘n Pay for R79,99 for a 750ml bottle.

My thoughts

I used the shampoo on both mine and Ava’s hair for the past week. Everyone has commented on my hair. It looks smoother and brighter and has required minimal styling.  The co-wash conditioning formula did take a little getting used to because it doesn’t lather like a traditional shampoo. But the results have been amazing. I’m especially impressed with how soft and smooth is made Ava’s coarse, dry hair.

Hi there! I too have a 9 year old girl who has hair for Africa! Like Hannah hers is dry and frizzy and looks like a thatch roof (being blonde). We have spent so much money on salon products that just don’t help. Being a tween all she wants is to wear her down like all the ‘other girls’ in her class. If she does wear it down by the end of the day it’s a matted mess of knots so I would love to try this shampoo on my Erin. Thanks

Since giving birth 9 months ago, my hair has been falling, and it’s a little drier (and curlier) than usual… I’d love to experience the effects of this Tresemme on my hair (which so desperately needs some TLC right now!)

Fine, flyaway frizz that is never smooth after a wash. I always have ” sun rays” sticking out from my hairline. Almost like the Statue of Liberty.

My hair is a hot mess in general. I exercise most mornings which means I wash my hair almost every day which I don’t think is very good. It just looks pretty dry and dull in general. Think I should give this a try even if I don’t win the hamper. Thanks for the review

Ugh my hair is not looking great at the moment. After I finished breastfeeding all those good hormones disappeared and now my hair is dry, frizzy, and breaking. I brush my hair and there is so much hair coming out 🙁

Would love to give this a try. In the last couple of weeks, I’ve decided to stop straightening my hair and start embracing my curls. I’m starting to love them and slowly learning how best to wash and style, hate having frizz and fly alway, this my concern for my curls. This sounds like a lovely alternative to shampoo which is as I’m learning drying out my already straightened to death hair!

My 11 year old Hannah has the fine, dry and frizzy hair…I have the thick, curly and frizzy long hair. I definitely want to add this to our hair washing regime and feel and see the benefits of it. Thanks for the review x

I have dry, curly hair and have been looking for a sulphate free option to tame my locks without breaking the bank. My hair is also long and without using very heavy masques I struggle to get it to behave when styling, almost breaking my arms in the process. It would be lovely to win a bottle to try !

My daughter has fine, thin, hair that tangles so easily and tends to get dry and slightly frizzy. I need something that detangles and moisturizes.
