If you’re wondering why I’ve been so quiet, it’s because I’ve been away for the last few days. Really not the greatest time to be away from work, with us being in peak trading period, but this was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. You see, the company Walter works for, have developed quite the reputation for throwing the most epic year end functions. Last year we went to Spier Wine Estate, the year before we went to Misty Hills, before that we were at Mabula. There have been cruises and trips to Mauritius, so when we received our invite for this years party, there was no way I was going to miss out….
Of course, with my parents living in Cape Town and Arabella being just outside Hermanus, we decided to fly the girls down with us, so that they could enjoy a weekend with Granny & Grandpa while we enjoyed a grown up’s weekend with no kids in sight!
I flew down on Thursday morning to get the girls settled with my parents before leaving for Arabella and we had a great time. I was apprehensive about flying alone with the girls, but they have proven repeatedly that they are great travelers, this was my view…. both on the flight there and the flight back!
We went to the beach….. and we met up with Cupcake Mummy and her gorgeous son, Fysh! Of course, she has an aversion to selfies but she also blogged about us meeting up with the kids on the beach and it was so great to meet her in person, especially because she is the talent behind my amazing blog design!
And on Thursday evening, I got to go to dinner (yay for babysitters thanks mom & dad) with some of my favorite Cape Town bloggers, including Tammi from Tazz Discovers, Nikki from Nikki and Nicolas, Cindy from 3 Kids, 2 Dogs & 1 Old House, Charlotte from The Stiletto Mum, Julia, who no longer blogs but who I love dearly, Celeste from Reluctant Mom and Maz from Caffeine and Fairydust. We had a great time, laughing, arguing (yes this is bound to happen with a group of outspoken people and we drank a lot of wine!) Can’t wait to see you all soon!
And then it was time for the main event… our weekend away!
Arabella is AMAZING you guys, if you ever have the opportunity, you simply must go! It was fantastic from start to finish, from the beautifully furnished rooms, to pools….
To the exquisite spa, where I was treated to one of the best body massages I’ve had in years!
And don’t even get me started on the gorgeous heated indoor pool!
We also had two parties while we were there!
One at Bientang’s Cave, which is just quite literally spectacular! The weather was a bit poo but we still had an amazing time!
From wine tasting on the rocks, with wales in the background….
To the spectacular scenery!
It was an evening to remember!
On our last night, we also had a Carnival themed party, which was tons of fun, but
I came home quite a few kg’s heavier and very very tired! But it was such an amazing experience and just what I needed to reinvigorate myself for the last, very tough push towards the end of the year!
